Can The 4" Wide Continuous Hinge Be Cut Down To A Different Length?

Question:

Was thinking about using something like this on a belt puller clamp, but we do not need the full 6foot length. Could we cut this down to something around 16-18? If no we may just weld on a couple smaller hinges

This hinge measures 6' long, 4" wide, has a 270° rotation for full opening/closing and is made in the USA.
