Replacement For Atwood G6A-8E Water Heater

Question:
Im needing to replace the tank on my Atwood G6A-8E water heater but Dometic has discontinued the 91641 tank but the AT91059 looks the same - will it work as a direct replacement?

Expert Reply:
Definitely not; if your tank needs replacing the only thing you can do is replace the entire water heater, which isn't ideal but there's nothing else you can do for hot water. The best option for that is tankless, as you not only never have a tank to replace, you also get instant hot water. The Furrion units will fit in the same space as your G6A-8E, and you just need to select the one with the correct size door for your opening:
- 16" x 16" Door: Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR
- 16" x 18" Door: Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR
- 18" x 18" Door: Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR68SR
