How Can I Use My Old Yakima Crossbars On My 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I need a roof rack for 2 cayaks. My Jeep has steel roof rails in black plastic troughs. I have a Yakima Bigstack # 04041 pair of crossbars. These have clamps that used to fit my previous car a Ford Escape with two raised roof rails. Can you supply feet to hold my Yakima crossbars to the roof rails on my Jeep? The old clamps can be slid off. My crossbars have a rectangular cross section 0.8 x 1.2.

If you want to use your old Yakima crossbars on your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with flush rails, your options will depend on what crossbars you have and the raised rails on your vehicle. Your first option will work on Jeep Grand Cherokees with the E-Group Package.
If you have the old Yakima round bars, they must be at least 50" in length. This rack will consist of the following items:
Your Yakima round crossbars
SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points, Flush Rails, and Track Systems - Qty 4, part # Y53TR
Landing Pad 18 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers - Qty 4, part # Y00244
RoundBar SL Adapter for Yakima BaseLine, SkyLine, TimberLine, and RidgeLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y03536
This roof rack has a maximum weight limit of 165 lbs. If your Yakima round crossbars are too short, you will need to add the Round 58" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System (QTY 2), part # Y00409. If you have the Yakima JetStream or CoreBar you will not need the RoundBar Adapter, provided the crossbars are at least 50" in length.
For A 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee without the E Group Package, your crossbars will need to be at least 58" in length.
This roof rack will consist of the following items:
Round 58" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System (QTY 2), part # Y00409
(Unless you have them already)
BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4, part # Y28TR
RoundBar SL Adapter for Yakima BaseLine, SkyLine, TimberLine, and RidgeLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y03536
BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 4, part # Y06121
This roof rack also has a maximum weight capacity of 165 lbs. If you have the Yakima JetStream or CoreBar, you will not need the RoundBar Adapter to use these crossbars, provided they are at least 58" in length
You will be still be able to use your Yakima Same Key System Lock Cores, part # Y07204. Your Yakima BigStack Roof Mounted 2 Kayak Carrier System, part # Y04041, will also work on your new crossbars if needed.
