Some common issues when trying to start a generator like the A-iPower 2,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generator # 289-SUA2000i are:
1. It’s low on oil.
This generator requires 10W-30, you'll want to fill the oil until the upper mark of the dipstick is met.
2. It’s out of gas.
Ensure the gas tank is full and that the gas is not stale.
3. The choke lever is in the wrong position.
The starting dial switch needs to be in the starting position.
4. The fuel valve is closed or clogged.
Check the fuel line for clogs and ensure the fuel cap vent lever is in the ON position.
5. The carburetor is clogged or air locked.
You'll have to remove the carburetor and clean it out (not likely with the generator being new)
6.The spark plug needs to be replaced. (not likely with the generator being new)
7. Electronics are plugged in during startup.
Remove any appliances plugged into the generator until it is up and running.
8. Check the air filter.
Check and clean the air filter (not likely with the generator being new)
