Question:
I am wiring a brake controller into 1996 K2500, what color wire is considered the brake cold wire activates when brake pedal is pressed to send signal?

Expert Reply:
GM traditionally used a white wire for the brake light signal wire at the stop light switch wire on the C/K series pickup trucks.
I strongly recommend testing the wires before you make your connections. The best way to ensure you are using the correct wire is to use a circuit tester to test for the wire that only shows power when the brake pedal is pressed. The wire should not have power with any other function. If you do not have a circuit tester, I recommend using # PTW2993.
