When determining the height of the crossbars over your roof, it truly depends on what system you plan on using on your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with black and chrome flush rails. From your recent searches, it looks like you were looking at the following setup:

With this specific system, I can be confident that the height of the crossbar will be just under 4 inches from the top of your roof to the top surface of the crossbar. Note that the height from the roof to the bottom surface of the crossbar is 2-3/4 inches. Factoring in the 1-3/16" width of the crossbar itself, that leaves us with a total height of 3-15/16 inches.
