How to Connect Two 40 lb. Propane Tanks Together
Question:
Hi, I saw your post link below on connecting two 20lb tanks. Does the same equipment work if I want to connect two 40lb tanks?

Yes, you will want the same equipment to connect (2) 40 lb. propane tanks together as long as your 40 pound tanks feature a standard ACME or P.O.L. fitting (which most do). You will want an (1) Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-30395. Then you will also need (2, one for each tank) MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-12 and (2, one for each tank) Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector # CAM59023. You would also need a hose coming from the regulator to the your appliances like the MB Sturgis High Pressure Propane Hose # 100040-144-MBS. This is the hose that would typically hook up to a RV's piping system. You may need a different hose from the regulator depending on what you are using it for, but you will need the 3/8" Male NPT to connect to the regulator.
If your 40 lb. tanks do not have the standard ACME or P.O.L. fittings then get back to me with pictures of your tanks and I can help get the correct hoses for you.
