Question:
Today, when hitching up our trailer to our vehicle, we were running the jack down to pick up the foot so we could raise and pin it for travel. When the jack got to the bottom, it quit. No power. We were able to manually loosen the foot pin to raise and stow the foot. But the jack had completely stopped. After bringing the trailer home - about 45 minutes on the road - it still wont work.

Either something happened to the wiring of the jack when it bottomed out or the switch went out on your # BD500199. The replacement switch is part # BD500363. If the light doesn't work either then I'd say it's wiring related and you'd need to go over it and check for anything obvious and fix. If the light does work and doesn't dim in any way when you hit the extend/retract switch then it would be the switch.
