Can My Older A&E Dometic Awning Be Upgraded to a Powered Awning

Question:
I have a 25 foot AandE Dometic awning with a solid color fabric almost canvas like with the metal weather guard. I would like to replace the arms with the Solara universal 12V 69inch motorized arms. Will the new arms and motor take the weight of the 25foot awning?

I have a solution for you to get a powered awning on your coach, and the Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit - Universal - 69" Arms - White # LC434724 wouldn't necessarily have any issues holding the weight of an awning that size. However, the issue you're going to run into is that the particular A&E Dometic awning you've got isn't setup to work with Solera replacement arms and cannot be upgraded-your awning does not have the wall mounted brackets and support arms required for this kit.
If you wanted to upgrade your awning to a power setup then you would need a complete awning kit like the Solera 12V XL Power RV Awning - 21' Wide - Extra-Long 9'8" Projection - Blue Fade # LC75FR. This comes with the awning arms, wall brackets, fabric, roller tube and switch to control the awning.
