Is the Malone DownLoader Easy to Install/Uninstall?

Question:

Is the Malone Downloader quick to uninstall/install so I can leave it in the car while I am in the water? If not, which one would be easiest? I plan on having two J cradle sets for my two kayaks for my SUV.

Yes, the Malone Downloader # MPG114MD does include an easy uninstallation/installation. As far as mounting/dismounting the carrier itself, it has knobs that simply screw/unscrew to the crossbars on your vehicle. This process does not require any tools or additional hardware. The cradles of the Downloaded can stay mounted on your vehicle while you are on the water. In addition, the cradles fold when not in use in order to save space when entering/exiting your garage. When using the Downloader, the installation/uninstallation will involve 2 straps that attach to the crossbars and 2 straps that you will attach to your vehicle. I went ahead and attached a video of the installation of the Downloader to this question.

Since you want to transport 2 kayaks, you should have enough room on your crossbars for 2 DownLoaders as long as your crossbars are at least 50 inches in length. If you need a roof rack recommendation for your vehicle that is required for the DownLoader, I would be happy to assist you if you provide the year/make/model.
