Powering A Freezer On A Trailer While Traveling
Question:
Hello, I pull a trailer with a freezer and would like to keep it running during travel. Would I be able to do so with an inverter connected to the running car battery? If so, what size would be needed? The freezer is a 700-watt freezer, pulling 3 amps. Are there videos or diagrams showing the connections needed? Thanks!

It is possible to power your freezer but you wouldn't want to power it using your vehicle's battery as you could end up damaging it. I recommend a larger deep cycle battery like the Go Power Lithium RV Battery # 34282738 since the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter # 34278156 is going to keep draining the battery until you turn it off and your vehicle's battery isn't meant to be drained down.
You can use a DC/DC charger like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D to charge the battery powering your freezer while you drive so you don't have to worry about it being completely run down. You'll also want a fuse kit to ensure the safety of your equipment, you can use the 30-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 12-Amp BCDC Battery Charger Item # RED86FR.
I've attached videos of installing the battery and Redarc battery charger for you. As for wiring the inverter you'll have a positive (red) and negative (black) terminal on the side of the inverter that you need to hook up 6 to 8 AWG wire (depending on the distance between the inverter and battery) to using ring terminals and attach them to the deep cycle battery positive and negative terminals. The inverter has 2 GFCI AC outlets that will allow you to plug the freezer right in.
