Could Trailer Safety Chains be Bolted to Trailer Frame
Updated 06/22/2021 | Published 06/19/2021 >
Question:
My current welded on safety chain loop is interfering with my hitch and damaging the first link on my safety chain. Can I bolt the safety chains to the frame in spot that will not interfere? This is for ~6500 lb traveler trailer.

Expert Reply:
Yes you could use a long enough and correct diameter nut and bolt to secure the safety chains to your trailer if you wanted or you could use the Buyers Products weld on safety chain retainer # 3375471000 that you referenced as well.
