Mounting The Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box On 2019 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Is it safe to install the Yakima Skybox 21 towards the side of the roof rack? I want to use it with my Yakima 6 ski racks. I currently have a 2019 Honda Odyssey with factory side rails. I have the 66” Yakima round bars for my crossbars. When installed, the box would overhand the roof of the car about 4”, but fully supported my the crossbars sticking out. I plan on 700 mile round trip to Park City with family of 6.

As long as your crossbar spread is between 24" - 42" as shown in the photo I attached and the Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07337 is fully resting on the crossbars and attached properly you will not have an issue. Just make sure you are not exceeding the weight capacity of your 2019 Honda Odyssey's roof and crossbars that you have installed. My research tells me that your vehicle's roof has a weight capacity of 165lbs, but you will want to verify via your owner's manual. I have attached a demonstration video for this cargo box.
