Troubleshooting 5th Wheel Slide Out That Extends But Doesn't Retract

Question:
slide extends with normal power but when in retract it loses power has to be helped by manually pushing on it . What would cause it to loose power? 2004 Forrest River 5th wheel camper with 1 slide 32 ft.

You could be experiencing some sort of hydraulic issue, so I would check the hydraulic lines for any signs of leakage and make sure that the reservoir is not low. I would also recommend that you're getting the full 12v of power onto the solenoid on the Hydraulic Power Unit. If you can verify that there are no leaks present and your reservoir is full, let me know and I can give you a couple of other troubleshooting steps.
At the end of the day, you may need to replace the hydraulic pump with the Lippert Replacement Hydraulic Power Unit with 2-Quart Pump Reservoir Kit for RV Slide-Out IRC System # LC141111.
