Recommended Replacement for Tie Down Engineering Model 70 Surge Drum Brake Actuator
Question:
I have a Performance aluminum boat trailer with tandem 3500# axles. It currently has a Tiedown model 70 actuator. I need to replace it, and would like a recommendation for the best option with electric lock out for drum brakes.

I'd recommend the Titan # T43397007K 7K capacity Drum Brake hydraulic trailer coupler. The coupler doesn't include a lock out, but an electric lock out solenoid can easily be added using part # T4748800. The solenoid shield, part # T4835800183 is also highly recommended. The coupler is compatible with 3 inch wide trailer tongues, and can be used on 1-7/8, 2 inch or 50mm trailer balls.
