Question:
What would you recommend for a bike rack between the hollywood HR1000Z and shinook 2? They both look to have similar features, but it seems like the hollywood rack weighs less and also has the same key for both locks. Is it made of aluminum instead of steel? Also Im curious which one has a better arm material for protecting the bike paint. I worry about rust and longevity of use, and plan to use a rack on a weekly basis if that helps. Thank you!

When it comes to construction and the powder coat, both the Hollywood Racks SportRider SE2 # HR1000Z and the Swagman Chinook # S64683 are both made of steel and will come with a heavy powder coating on them to help fight off corrosion. Additionally, both of these racks will come with a keyed alike feature on the locks, so neither of them are going to have separate keys for each lock. Both of these racks also have a lifetime limited warranty, so your investment is well protected.
Where these two racks differ is, as you've noticed, the SportRider SE 2 is going to be slightly lighter at 37-lbs, but also that the wheel cradles on the SE 2 are going to allow you to carry a bit longer bikes compared to the Chinook. The Chinook will only work with bikes that have up to a 50" wheelbase where the SE 2 will accept bikes with a 60" wheelbase.
For these reasons, I really think the SportRider SE 2 # HR1000Z is going to be the better choice for when choosing between the two since the other differences are extremely negligible.
I've linked the review videos of both of these racks for you to have a look at as well.
