Recommended Bike Rack Compatible with a Travel Trailer

Question:

It suggests not using this rack on the back of a travel trailer. Why is that? We have a travel trailer, and this type of rack is something that we’re looking for. Can you tell us why we shouldn’t use this rack on the back of our trailer hitch. Thank you.

Many bike racks that are rated for motorhomes, like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE, part # HR1450Z, aren't rated for travel trailers because they haven't been built to handle the additional bounce and sway that a travel trailer has.

We do have a bike rack that is rated for travel trailers. It's the Swagman Dispatch, part # S44FR. It's a platform style rack that can handle 4 bikes up to 45 pounds each. It has a similar design to the Sport Rider SE you mentioned.
