Is It Normal for Exhaust Pipe to Rattle Against Hitch Installed on 2016 Honda HR-V

Question:
Hi I recently purchased a hitch kit for my Honda hrv. I mounted it and everything went smoothly except now I’m having major muffler vibration on where the bolt on the passenger side sits. Is this normal? Is there something you can send me to alleviate this issue?

It's absolutely normal. The exhaust system attaches to your vehicle using rubber isloators which means that the position of your exhaust can vary, sometimes by a surprising amount from vehicle to vehicle. However, your Curt # C11416 hitch is solidly bolted to the vehicle so it's position on the vehicle is pretty much set in stone.
The good news is that this can be easily fixed. Usually, it's just a matter of crawling under the car and bending one of the exhaust hangers just enough so that the exhaust no longer rattles against the hitch. We actually have a help article that addresses this very issue and provides some solutions. You can see the article by clicking the provided link.
