Question:

I purchased the kayak Rhino rack J-style model S512 from E-Trailer to carry my two kayaks on my 2500 Ram. They work great but since then I have had a few back problems and lifting the kayaks up to the top of my truck has become a problem. My question is can the Malone TelosXL load assist be connected to the Rhino J-kayak rack in anyway so lifting will not be a problem or will I have to purchase the entire Malone system?

The Telos part # MPG351XL that you referenced can only be used with the Malone Downloader carrier part # MPG114MD. Now that said if you are going to spend that type of money I'd much rather recommend you the Thule Hullavator part # TH898 as it works much better and is easier to use as well.

Doesn't the Thule Hullovator only work with Thule crossbars? I have factory installed Subaru ones.

The Hullavator Pro # TH898 will work right out of the box with any Thule crossbar as well as the Yakima Round Bars and any crossbar that has the standard T-Slot dimensions for accessories. Since I don't believe your OEM Subaru crossbars have the T-Slot you'll also need to use the Mounting Kit # TH7520970001. You'll also need to make sure that your crossbars have the ability to stick out past the foot of the crossbar system 4" - 8" so that the Hullavator Pro won't come into contact with your vehicle.
