Trailer Winch Recommendation to Replace Older Rule Winch

Question:

I have a 12v rule winch that is 20 years old that is not lifting like it used to. Rule has not been making winches for 10 years so getting a replacement from them is not possible. The rule winch was rated at 3300lbs and I would like to, if possible go a little larger. I have several hurdles I must overcome though. The current winchs dimensions are 14 long 5 wide and 5 1/4 tall its 12v has a brakeits used to lift and is rated at 3300lbs. its possible that I could go a little bigger dimensionally but not a lot, width or height could be adjusted but it would be hard to increase both and length could also be increased but not buy an excessive amount. Also if the spool were in the center it wouldnt be the end of the world as I can fabricate most solutions. Any help you could give would be great. Thanks

I have a really great replacement winch solution with the Bulldog Winch part # BDW15017 as it has a 3,400 lb capacity and is actually a little smaller than what you have as it is 13 inches long, 4-1/2 inches wide, and 7-1/8 inches tall.
