Replacement Trailer Clearance Lights for Bargman 99 Series

Question:

I am looking for replacement clearance lights for an 1984 Scamp trailer. Do you recommend the MC65AB lights or something else? The lights that I have on the trailer now have printing on the white plastic base which says ROL #270 and 278. The amber lens which covers the base and lamp has printing which says T Bargeman 99. The base is attached to the fiberglass body of the trailer with what appear to be hollow aluminum rivets. These rivets are exactly 3inch apart. how do I remove the rivets? Should I try to drill them out or should I break away the plastic base until I can hacksaw the rivets in two? I think that the base for the MC65AB light is held in place with screws that are spaced 3inch apart. Will this present complications when I go to mount the new base?

The correct replacement trailer clearance light for a Bargman 99 Series is the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light part # MC44RB for red or part # MC44AB or amber. The mounting holes for this light are spaced 3" apart on center. It features a simple two wire installation, one for power and one for ground. In order to remove the old lights it would be easiest to just drill out the rivets with a small drill bit. The drilled holes would then make good pilots for the self tapping screws part # 1131832 you'll use for the above lights.
