Question:
I have a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I cannot located the brake control wire under the hood that should be between the fuse box and the driver side fender. Do you know if they ever put this wire in another location. The brake control power wire was located under the master cylinder taped to a bundle of wires. Any suggestions?

The brake controller power wire should be taped to another harness in the general area you are looking in. It is possible that it is lower in the engine compartment and you may need to fish it out. It could also already be connected which you would know if the brake controller powers on. I have linked a video that might help.
If you cannot find it, you have another option. You can remove the truck wire attached to the black brake controller wire. Attach to the black a length of wire long enough to reach to the vehicle battery. Route the wire through the wire through the fire wall and over to the battery and attach as normal like in the FAQ I have linked.
For wire you can use # 10-1-1 sold in 1 foot increments.
