Question:
I bought a hidden hitch brand hitch part # 70181 for my 2001 ford ranger in 2016 that had better weight ratings than anything available now. Are they out of business? Cant seem to find their hitches anywhere. Found a sweet deal on another Ranger and wanted a hitch for it.

The Hidden Hitch brand was discontinued a few years ago which is why the part number you referenced is no longer available. That hitch did have slightly higher capacities than the current hitches that fit your 2001 Ford Ranger like the Draw Tite # 75082 you referenced. I looked up the towing capacities of the Rangers of your year and found that the highest rating it could have would have been for 6,000 lbs trailer weight.
The Draw Tite mentioned could tow this weight if you used a weight distribution system like the Fastway e2 part # FA94-00-0600 but without a WD system the capacity would be 4,000 lbs.
