Should Battery that is Being Charged with CTEK D250S Drain When Stored
Question:
Hello, we have a camp van with ctek 250s installed and solar and the problem is that when engine stopped and car not used for a few days the starter battery dies like you can t even start the engine or turn on lights, the starter battery was checked and it seems the problem is dropping voltage very fast , we were told it might be the ctek installation problem

Either the battery is bad (sounds like you tested it already and it's not), or there is a circuit drawing off of it that's is draining it when it's parked. If you want to isolate the CTEK as the problem you can try removing it from the setup to see if the voltage drop still occurs. If doing this does stop the discharge of the battery most likely it's the wiring of the CTEK that is causing the problem.
The CTEK is designed to only allow the battery to be charged from both an alternator and a solar panel. It should allow voltage to then drain for the battery. I'd suspect it's an appliance or circuit that's not turned off from the battery's supply which is draining it.
