How to Remove Broken Paddle Handle Lock on Shed

Question:

I can get the screws out not how do you get the paddle lick itself off. I was Im the shed in February and now the paddle latch dies not shut all the way and will not open at all. I think someone tried to pry it open.

Before trying to remove the lock itself I do just recommend trying to apply some spray lubricant like WD-40 inside the lock cylinder, letting it sit, and trying the key again. You might even do this a few times. It could be as simple as some built-up corrosion or debris inside the mechanism that just needs to be loosened up.

If this doesn't work then you will need to try and remove the latch itself. After removing the mounting screws you should hopefully be able to angle the paddle lock out from the door. Try pulling out just one side (the right side when you're facing the lock since that is the side without the locking latch) enough to where you can angle out the rest.

If this doesn't work then your next stop will be to just contact a local locksmith to see if they can remove the lock. If the above 2 options don't work this will be your safest route to avoid any damage to the shed door.
