Maximum Towing Capacity of a 2012 Ford F-350 SRW

Question:

I note you stated in a reply the max capacity is 15700 lbs. is this for a gooseneck or the bumper? What is gooseneck capacity.

The most well equipped 2012 Ford F-350 Single Rear Wheel (SRW) has a 14,000 lb conventional towing capacity and a 5th wheel/gooseneck towing capacity of 16,700 lbs. In order to find your exact towing capacity the best method would be to find the gross combined weight rating (GCWR) and subtract from this the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). These figures should be located on the white sticker inside the driver door jamb.

If your 2012 Ford F-350 has the factory prep package then all you would need to tow a gooseneck trailer is the Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit part # RP30137 but if you do not have the factory prep package then I recommend the Reese Elite Series Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty part # RP30138-26 which is essentially the same as the factory prep package.
