Does Advent Air Rooftop RV Air Conditioner Remove Humidity
Updated 06/30/2024 | Published 09/09/2018
Question:
Hi, Im considering this A/C unit because our Dometic Brisk causes the humidity to rise in our trailer. I think this is possibly due to short cycling or bad design - I dont see a way for the evaporator to rid itself of moisture, theres not drip tray under it so when the condenser kicks off and the blower is still circulating inside air it is just adding the moisture in the evap back into the air. Thanks,

When an air conditioner is running properly it does remove humidity. So the Advent Air Rooftop RV Air Conditioner # ACM135C would remove humidity. There is a drain system in this kit as well.

Thanks. I just tested the cold air with my IR thermometer and I saw 30° with and outside temperature at 51°F. During the cooling cycle, the humidity usually comes down to acceptable levels, like 49 from 60 this time after only 2 minute run-time. But after it shuts off and the sensing fan comes on, the humidity will climb much higher and will usually reach outside levels. It acts the same with heat pump. Any thoughts on why the humidity rises so much during the sensing phase? Thank you for your support.

We just had an Atwood 15BTU rooftop installed in our 2014 Itasca Reyo and are having problems with high humidity 70-85 in any mode cooling, heating and dry. It will cool and heat ok, but we cant live with the high humidity. Is this typical for this unit. TIA.
