Recommended Replacement for 7.00-15LT Tires

Question:

I need to replace 6 tires on a 1978 Avion 34 ft trailer that currently has 7.00-15 LT tires. What tires do you recommend? Thank you

Expert Reply:

The 7.00-15LT tires you have on your 1978 Avion trailer have a 29.4" diameter, have a load range that should be in the 2,400 lb vicinity and fit wheels that are 5", 5-1/2" and 6". For comparable tires I recommend going with a trailer tire that is size 225/75-15; these tires are 28.4" in diameter, a width of 8.9" and fit 6" wide wheels.

A great option is the Karrier # AM10256 which fits 15" x 6" wheels and has a load range of D, with a capacity of 2,540 lbs at 65 psi. This is a radial tire which is going to give you the best ride and overall performance. The Karrier tires are very highly rated by our customers who have used them.

So I have the same sort of tire 7.00 -15LT on a mobile home that I have. I'm trying to get a replacement tire and seen that you put a suggestion for a different type of tire does that type of tire that you suggested mean that I have to replace the rim also?

@Dannt as long as you have 15" x 6", 15" x 6-1/2", or 15" x 7" rims the # AM10256 will fit.
