I really depends on what you have on your Jeep Cherokee and Chevy Equinox. To tow a trailer that doesn't have brakes you just need a trailer hitch, ball mount (and hitch pin) with a hitch ball, and some wiring to activate the lightning functions on your pop-up camper. Since pop-ups usually don't have brakes you shouldn't need anything more than that.
If you can let me know the years of your Cherokee and Equinox as well as if they already have anything from the list mentioned above I would be happy to make any additional recommendations if they are necessary.
