Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.7L Hemi

Question:

I have a grand Cherokee 2005 limited 5.7 hemi. I have seen one of your products called the transmission cooler. I would like to purchase one and I would like to know which one would be the best one to purchase. On my dashboard transmission over temp came on a total of 4 times in the past 3 months.

The unit I suggest if you want a passive cooler that mounts in front of the A/C condenser is the Derale Class IV cooler # D13504. This is a high-efficiency plate-fin type cooler that offers the most cooling power available for your truck.

You will install the cooler on the return line from your OEM cooler so that the add-on cooler can provide additional cooling to the transmission fluid before it re-enters the transmission.

The transmission coolers we offer are a great way to help out the internal transmission cooler that is inside your radiator. These supplemental coolers as we call them provide additional cooling of your 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee's transmission fluid after the factory cooler has done its job. For those towing a trailer, driving in exceptionally hot climates, etc these add-on coolers are a great way to prolong the life of your transmission by reducing thermal stress.

Coolers are not vehicle-specific so you can use as large a cooler as you have space to install it, in front of the A/C condenser. We also offer fan-powered coolers that can be installed pretty much anywhere inside the engine compartment since they do not depend on air flow (from the vehicle moving) to cool the transmission fluid. Fan-powered coolers are ideal when towing in mountainous regions where driving speeds are low and demands on the engine are high.

You can refer to the linked articles on transmission coolers for lots of helpful information.
