Difference Between Trailer Hubs that are Lug Centric and Hub Centric

Question:
I have a 2006 KZ Sportsman Trailer with 16inch 8 on 6.50 wheels. Im tired of blowouts and expensive 17.5inch tires on Taskmaster solid center wheels. When I went to get wheels mounted, I was told that the hubs had to be wheel centric as the Taskmasters are supported by the hub center and not the Lug nuts - even though I also have the two piece lug nuts for 1/2 studs. I was told to change the hubs. So my question is which 8 on 6.5inch hubs are wheel centric for the Taskmaster wheels?

It is easy to tell which type of wheel you have on your boat trailer.
Lug centric wheels slide onto studs on the hub and are secured with lug nuts, like a car tire.
If a wheel is hub centric, the wheel centers on the hub and bolts are threaded into the hub to secure the wheel.

All Your experts are incorrect in describing hub centric and lug centric. Wether your wheels are held on by lug bolts or lug nuts w studs in no way tells you wether you have hub centric or lug centric. Inspection of how the hub and factory wheel fit is required. Simply put a hub centric hub will have a nice slide on fit between the wheels big center hole and the hubs 1/8” to 1/4” wide machined area at the base of the hub where it meets the face of the hub that the back of the wheel sits against. We have a Supra ski boat that has lug bolts just like the redline lug bolts you sell and there is 1/4” gap between the inner circle of the rim and the hub. Owned since new so these are the factory wheels. Also even if we didn’t have the factory wheels on it to inspect , the hub is not machined in the area needed to be a hub centric so it no way hub centric. Also have a 87’ k30 1 ton dually Chevy truck. It has hub centric factory steel daully wheels, with studs and lug nuts. So that’s a hub with bolts just like the redlines you’re sell that is lug centric. Cone shaped lug bolts or cone shaped lug nuts don’t always point to lug centering. These cone shapes also center the lug nut studs or the the lug bolts in the holes of the wheel, this way no threads will be able to come in contact with the edges of the lug holes in the wheel.
