Question:
I have a 2008 jeep liberty sport trail rated edition. How do I know if my vehicle is equiped with a tow package? It didnt come with a hitch, but does have the tow button near the console shifter. I need to know, so I can know which of the two products to purchase. Thanks

If your Liberty was equipped with the tow package, it will have the 7-way trailer connector on the rear of the vehicle. Part # 118381 would plug inline with the wiring harness leading to the 7-way.
Since you do not have the factory hitch, you probably do not have the tow package and would want to use part # 118554. Installation is pretty simple. Access the rear of the tail light assemblies, plug the connectors inline with the existing connections behind the tail lights, and run the power wire to the positive battery terminal.
I will include a link to the install instructions for your convenience.
