How to Determine Transmission Return Line on 2008 Honda Odyssey to Install Transmission Cooler
Question:
Tell me which transmission line is the return

To find the correct return line the method we use is to brake torque the vehicle. To do this you will want to start the vehicle and put it in gear. Then with your foot on the brake pedal rev the engine a bit to get the transmission fluid warm. Then put the vehicle back in park, turn off the key and go check the two transmission lines connected to the factory transmission cooler. The cooler of the two is the return line to install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13502 on to.
I've attached a video of a different Derale cooler being installed in a 2008 Odyssey. Even though it's a different cooler the installation will still be the same. If you skip ahead to the 4:33 mark you'll see the installer identify the correct line. I still recommend you test your vehicle just to verify.
