Can I Lower The 16K Reese 5th Wheel Head As Low As It Goes With Replacement Leg Kit Installed?

Question:
I just removed my 16K Reese slider and installed the RP30727 leg replacement kit. Kit installed easily with no issues. One reason I went this direction, was because i needed to lower the hitch due to the pitch of my rig. When I move the head mount as low as it goes, i lose quite a bit of pitch angle as the head hits the legs before the rubber bump stops engaged on the mount. Is the replacement leg kit designed to be ok to lower as far as it goes, or are there limitations? I received no instructions with the kit that stated not to lower to the bottom bolts under certain conditions. Appreciate any feedback.

I reached out to Cequent Tech Support who makes Reese Hitches to ask about your specific issue. We think we have a solution for you based on fitment. If you have the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs, # RP30051, then you have the right replacement legs with the # RP30727, and you will be able to adjust the hitch completely without issue. However, if you have the Reese Titan 16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Round Tube Slider - Serrated Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs RP30869, you would need different replacement legs. Those replacement legs are # RP58449. With the proper combination of parts, you will have no issues with the height adjustments to the highest or lowest points.
