Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2016 Ford F-150 with 2.7 liter Ecoboost

Question:

Derale folks suggested I contact you. I have a 2016 F150 w/2.7L ECO Boost. I do not have the optional increased capacity trans oil cooler comes w/trailer package. Im looking for an auxiliary to add, or a cooler to replace mine that will meet or beat the optional Ford HD cooler in capacity. Can you assist me in selecting one that fits and will meet criteria. Note: It will increase GCW by almost 2,500 lbs from what I have been able to glean from Ford publications. Thank you

Basically you want to go with the biggest cooler you can fit behind the grille of your truck. The most popular option is the part # D13503 which measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. This large cooler would do an excellent job keeping your transmission fluid cool.

You would still want to check with Ford after the install of the cooler to verify that the towing capacity does go up.
