Will Using the B&W Biker Bar Put Too Much Stress on the Frame of a Touring Harley

Question:

This seems like it will be rough on the frame of the bike. Too much stress in one spot on each side of the frame where there wasnt meant to be any. If I use a wheel chock and soft tie downs, the suspension of the bike still takes most of the stress as the vehicle/trailer go down the road. This seems too rigid. Thoughts?

I spoke with our resident Harley guy about what he thought of the B&W Biker Bar Motorcycle Tie-Down System for Trailers # BWMC2301 if he were to use it with his bike. Since the bike frame is designed to support not only its own weight but also the weight of the rider and some gear it is plenty strong enough to be secured by the Bike Bar.

Also, it is holding the frame at the lowest point closest to the center of gravity so side to side movement won't be an issue and neither will be up and down movement. Just make sure there are no cables or wires on the frame where the Bike Bar attaches.

When transporting motorcycles the front forks and rear suspension, if applicable, should always be compressed. If the bike can move with the suspension then it can get loose and fall. That won't happen with the Bike Bar. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you.
