Gooseneck or Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2013 Ram 3500 for Hauling 3 Car Trailer
Question:
I am just getting started in the car hauling industry. Am buying a 2012 or newer Ram 3500 and a 3-car wedge trailer. Is there a practical difference between having it set up as a gooseneck or a fifth wheel?

For what you will be doing you will want to go with a gooseneck hitch. If nothing else, for the sole reason that gooseneck hitches have a 30k capacity typically and only the highest rated fifth wheels are usually around 24k.
As long as your truck is a long bed the gooseneck is going to be the way to go. Fifth wheels have more moving parts that can potentially wear out. Their only real advantage is that you can get a slider hitch for if you have a short bed to allow for tighter turning clearance.
Lets say you get a 2013 Ram long bed 3500 the hitch I would recommend is the Draw Tite part # 9466. It has a 30k capacity and a great price. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
