Question:

I purchased a 2022 Jayco Eagle 317rlok and would like to upgrade to the Gen-Y Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Auto Latch - Lippert Rhino - 21K GTW - 3.5K TW Item # GY98GR I had a Gen Y on my current unit we just sold and have been happy with it. I believe this is the one I need, the new fifth wheel has the Rhino Box. I have attached photos. My question is exactly which unit I need. The GVW on the new unit is right at 13,000. Following the instructions at 22 that puts my estimated pin weight at 2,860. Jaycos specs say a dry weight of just under 2,100. So I believe this is the correct unit, but want to be sure I would not be another level up from here. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

Thanks for the pictures and congrats on the new trailer! You are correct the Gen-Y item # GY98GR would be the correct adapter for your Jayco Eagle. This system replaces the Lippert Rhino pin box and has the extra pin weight capacity you will need.

You will also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks item # GY49GR. State laws require use of safety chains with a gooseneck hitch and they are not included with the pin box.
