Does Computer have to be Reset to Install a Trailer Connector on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I live 150 miles from nearest Jeep dealership and recently had a 7 pin connector installed by local trailer company along with a hitch receiver but the electrical is not working for the tow.I see from previous QandA here that if a 7 pin connector is installed, the vehicle computer will most likely need to be re-set by the dealer. Is that also true for a 4 pin connector?

The problem is that all of the trailer connectors for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee are for models that came with the factory tow package. So any of them, 4- or 7-Way, that get installed on a model that did not come with a factory trailer connector would have to have the computer reset by a Jeep Dealer.
