I'd recommend the Tow Ready Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Kit for your Corolla, part # 119178KIT. This is a hardwired option. Due to the age of the vehicle, and the fact that the Corolla wasn't popularly used as a tow vehicle, there isn't a plug and play wiring option available.
I'll link you to an install video showing the wiring harness being installed on a newer Toyota Avalon. Although the wire colors in the Avalon are probably different, the video will give you a good idea of the installation procedure.
