I am looking for a hitch for my 2013 chev malibu 2LT non turbo. I noticed your hitches are a little more expensive but seem to mount differently. What is the extended bar that goes under the car? Does it provide better stability? Im looking for a class 2 hitch. Thanks!

The long bar that is on the hitch straight back from the receiver provides an additional center attachment point for the trailer hitches such as # C12115. These attachment points are needed to safely install the hitch and provide is rated capacity of 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It attaches to a subframe bracket forward on the vehicle.

If you plan on doing some towing the correct ball mount is # 36061 and it includes a pin and clip. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # C56200KIT. I have included links to the installation instructions for the wiring as well.
