Can Curt Weight Distribution Shank be Used with Reese Weight Distribution System

Question:

Hello I recently bought a 23foot 2007 AS safari, with a Reese round bar wd system included. Unfortunately, the max on the RP54970 from the receiver on the 2015 F150 TV still has the ball height ~2.25inch above AS factory specs for coupler height. Can I substitute the Curt 17120 with its extra 2.75inch . If so, other than price, whats the effective difference between the 17120 and Reese RP3215? Thanks for your help

Yes, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # 17120 that you referenced can be used with a Reese Weight Distribution System. Thankfully all of the WD manufacturers decided to make the shank dimensions the same so that they all can be interchanged.

The part # RP3215 that you referenced basically can do an additional 5/8 inches of drop when compared to the # 17120 on a round bar system. They have the same drop of 5-3/4 inches on a trunnion system.
