Before we get too carried away talking about the braking system and how it's gonna work, I figured it'd be useful to talk about the five main components that we're gonna need to flat tow our Traverse in the first place. Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Traverse

Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Chevy Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch. So before we talk about the stoplight switch and why we may or may not need it, I figured it'd be useful to just to kind of touch base on the main components that we're going to need to flat tow our Traverse down the road first in the place. There's going to be a total of five main components that you're going to need. The first one's going to be a base plate, and that base plate is going to provide us with a solid and reliable connection point that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. Tow bar is going to be our second component, and this is going to be the physical link that connects the front of your Chevy to the back of your motor home.

Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Traverse

Hey everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse and I'm gonna walk you through how to install, Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Supplemental Braking System. The braking system is gonna be one of these seven main components that are required to flat tow the Chevy Traverse. Your tow bar, which gives you that attachment point between your base plate and your motor home.

SMI Air Force One Braking System Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse we're going to be taking a look at and installing the SMI Air Force One supplemental breaking system for motorhomes with air brakes and it's a proportional breaking system part number SM99243. Here's what the Air Force one's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. We've got the air cylinder here that's mounted to the arm of our break pedal. What it's going to is allow this to serve as your supplemental breaking system so that the breaks can be applied in the towed vehicle as it's being towed behind your motorhome. It functions using pressurized air from the airbrake system on the motorhome. This system is really nice because unlike some systems that are portable that you can switch between vehicles, if you have one vehicle that you're planning on towing behind your motorhome on a regular basis, this is going to be a permanent install and that way whenever you've got your vehicle in tow mode you just have to hook your airline and cable up to the break-away switch and once you've got your vehicle completely hooked up to your motorhome, you're ready to roll. You don't have to take the time to make sure everything's set up properly. From inside the motorhome it has a monitor light that on this one has been mounted on the dash, you can also mount it on the back of the rear view mirror if you'd like, whatever the most convenient for you, you can see that when the breaks are applied in the motorhome, that monitor light will come on to let you know that the breaks in your towed vehicle are being applied. That monitor light can be seen through the camera on the rear of your motorhome. The Air Force One is a proportional breaking system so the harder you apply the breaks inside your motorhome, the harder it will apply the breaks inside your towed vehicle. Now let's show you how to install this unit.

Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Hey everyone Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse and I want to walk through how I installed Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Supplemental Braking System. Supplemental Braking System is going to be required any vehicle being flat-towed behind a motor home. What the braking system does, it allows the vehicle to not only slow but stop itself while not relying on the brakes on the RV to stop both because let's face it, replacing brakes on an RV is very expensive. It's going to be a proportional system. So when you apply the brakes in the RV, it's going to match that pressure in the vehicle.

Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Shane: Hey everyone. Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. And I want to walk you through how I installed Roadmaster's stoplight switch. Why would we need a stoplight switch Well, if we're flat towing our vehicle, the braking system has to be tied into the wiring on the brake pedal, or the factory brake light switch. However, on this vehicle, you can not tie into that wire.
