Paddleboard And Kayak Carrier Recommendations For 2010 Ford Escape
Question:
Is there any way to fit a SUPDawg and a kayak carrier on top of a 2010 Ford Escape? Id prefer there is a lift assist for the kayak, but in reality Id try anything that fits. Thanks,

The biggest concern with using both a paddleboard carrier and a kayak carrier on the roof of your 2010 Escape is the crossbar room that is required for the carriers.
The SUPDawg Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier, part # Y04075, measures 40-1/8 inches wide. Depending on the kayak, you may have a tough time trying to fit both on the crossbars.
A carrier like the Yakima HandRoll, part # Y04082-2 has rollers that are placed on the rear crossbar and allow you to load your kayak by placing it on the rollers and pushing the kayak forward to fit in the front cradles. Unfortunately, this system requires the kayak to be placed hull-side down and that would take up quite a lot of crossbar space, making it difficult to fit the paddleboard carrier at the same time. I have attached a product review video for this carrier you can check out.
I recommend using a J-Style kayak carrier like part # TH834. This carrier will work with round, square, elliptical, aero and most factory crossbars, and can hold a kayak up to 36 inches wide. Since it holds the kayak in place on its side it takes up much less space than the Hullyroller.
These recommendations are based on you already having a roof rack system installed on your Escape. If you do not have a roof rack let me know and I can make some recommendations that will work for you.
