Yes, you can install a brake controller on your 2007 Suzuki XL7. Brake controllers are not vehicle specific. Some controllers include cables that fit specific vehicles to make wiring faster and easier. There is no specific installation wire for your Suzuki XL7, but you can still use a brake controller.
First you will need a brake controller. One of our most popular brake controllers is the Tekonsha Prodigy, part # 90885. It is very effective, but very simple to use.
You will also need a part # ETBC7. This kit provides everything you will need to convert a basic 4-Way connector on your Suzuki into a 7-Way.
If you do not already have a 4-Way connector on your XL7, use part # C56012 if you have the tow package. If you do not have the factory tow package, you will need to hardwire your vehicle using part # 119178KIT.
I will include a link to a help page on installing a brake controller form scratch and a video that shows how to install the, # ETBC7, brake controller installation kit on a different vehicle. Even though the vehicle is different the process will be much the same.
