How to Install a Brake Controller in a 1999 Chevy Silverado

Question:
I have a 99 silverado and the pre wired connector have a red, blue both are larger than the rest light blue, brown and black. What wires need to connect to what to install the voyager that has red, blue, black, white.

To install a brake controller like the Voyager part # 39510 that you referenced in a 1999 Chevy Silverado all you would need is the correct wiring harness. That would be the part # 3025-P. This will plug into the harness of the # 39510 and then plug into the port under the dash of your truck.

The wire codes you listed are the standard wire colors for Chevy vehicles so if you need to wire a controller to them and not use the harness you would need to wire the:
Red of the truck to the black of the brake controller
Light blue of the truck to the red of the brake controller
Black of the truck to the white of the brake controller
Dark blue of the truck to the blue of the brake controller
Brown wire isn't used.
