Question:
There is no more room in front of radiator for more coolers, so, I am looking for a remote transmission cooler w/fan. I tow 9k trailer up slow steep grades on a daily basis. I have a few questions regarding this cooler. 1 how do I determine which size AN fitting is required? 2 want to mount it to left of transfer case. Does it need to be situated flat, or vertical? 3 if space is cramped, can 90* elbow fittings be installed at inlets? 4 is there a kit available for my truck? 5 is there, perhaps a better choice for my application? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I spoke with my contact at Derale and he recommended going with Derale Hyper-Cool Extreme Remote Cooler Assembly w/ Fan # D13870 on your 2013 Dodge Ram pickup. This cooler can be mounted anywhere space permits, so yes you can mount it near the transfer case as long as air flow is unrestricted. It can be mounted vertical or flat or basically any way you desire. And yes, you can use 90 degree elbow fittings at the inlets, though it may restrict flow a bit.
You will have to look at your lines to determine which size AN fitting is required. Or you can call your dealer. If your lines are 5/16" (-6 AN) you will want hardware kit # D13020. For 3/8" (-8 AN) use # D13022.
I have included a helpful article about engine oil coolers for your reference.
