Question:
I have a 2012 outlander and am having trouble finding the wire under the hood for the power wire. It isnt taped to any cable behind the headlight. Can you direct me to the proper place to look on a 2012 Outlander?

The power wire for your Tow Ready T-One Vehicle 4-Pole Wiring Harness # 118518 should be located behind the driver-side headlamp as you note and as illustrated in the linked video. If you refer to the 1:23 mark in the linked video you'll see where our installers found the vehicle harness after removing the battery from a 2007 Outlander.
It is possible that the exact location of this plug will vary. Try moving the other wiring out of the way. You may also have better luck checking from underneath the vehicle. The key is to look for the mating connector that plugs into the TowReady harness. It may be covered with tape, or be zip-tied to other wiring. The video highlights the connector you're looking for.
