Question:
I have changed tow vehicles from a 2005 Chevy 1500 Z71 to a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 HD diesel. I have a Pro Series WD Hitch but when I put it in the receiver of the ram 2500 it is about 5 inches higher than my travel trailers coupler. Travel trailers level measurement from ground to top of coupler is 21 inches/bottom around 18 inches. Truck receiver from ground to top of 2inch receiver opening is 24 inches. when I install pro series hitch in truck receiver the measurement from the ground to the top of the ball is 26 inches. What shank do I need to get?

I attached a link to the right that details how to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount for you to check out. First we need to determine exactly how much drop you need. It sounds like you need 6 inches of drop.
Which for a shank for your Pro Series Weight Distribution system that can do 6 inches of drop you would want the Reese Weight Dist Shank # RP63971 that you referenced as it can do a max of 6-1/2 inches of drop with a round bar WD system.
If you have a trunnion bar setup you would instead need the part # C17121 to get the needed drop.
