How To Fix Muffler Rattling Against the Trailer Hitch on a 2004 Honda CRV
Published 08/29/2008 >
Question:
I recently purchased a class III tow hitch and a bike rack from you for a 2004 Honda CRV. Unfortunately, the muffler keeps tapping against one of the mounting bolts, causing a rattle. Is there a particular solution you would recommend over others?

When we have this issue on vehicles here at our shop. Sometimes we bend out the last exhaust hanger just enough to force it away from the hitch . Also the rubber hangers could be on the loose side causing too much play, you could try replacing with new rubber hangers. Check through your directions to see if it mentions flipping or removing an exhaust hanger.
